Flail Mowers

Tackle overgrown areas. Thoroughly mulch clippings. Get a smoother, more finished cut.

Flail mowers can give you a smoother, more complete cut in overgrown areas than Rotary Cutters, and they thoroughly shed and scatter clippings. For large or overgrown acreage, the Heavy-Duty 918H Flail Mower fits tractors up to 70 hp equipped with a 540 rpm PTO. It can be used with Category I or II hitches, without adding lift links or other parts.


  • Vertical Blade Rotation - Cutting knives rotate vertically at 2100 rpm for a fine, even cut. This reduces the chance of objects being thrown from the mower.
  • Reversible Blades - Blades are reversible for long life. Single-bolt mounting makes replacement easy.
  • Fine-Cut Blades - The blades are mounted with a single hinge to a rotor positioned across the direction of forward travel, so blades are parallel to the ground and in line with the mower's direction. Cupped blades for greater lift are available.
  • Reverse Rotors - Clippings are thoroughly shredded by the reverse rotation of the rotor blades, then thrown to the back of the mower where the extended rear skirt helps to distribute them evenly.
  • Full-Width Rear Gauge Roller - The Rear Gauge Roller allows the mower to follow ground contours.
  • Offset Design & 3-Point Hitch Mounting - Because the Flail Mower sits off-center, it allows you to easily trim close to trees and buildings. Your Boomer Tractor and mower respond as a single unit for greater maneuverability.
