Switch Blade Sickle Bar Mowers

The simplistic, time-tested design of the Switch Blade® offers its users a fast, efficient, cost-effective method of vegetation maintenance. Designed for tractors with smaller horsepower engines, it is both safe and reliable. Users can depend on the Switch Blade for high production due to faster cutting as well as less maintenance than any other industrial mower on the market today.

The Switch Blade cutter bar features a breakaway system allowing the unit to hinge when obstructed. Also featured is a planetary drive system which allows for smoother operation and cleaner cutting. An efficient motor, decreased in size and weight, helps to increase speed control.

With a two-section front pump, the updated hydraulic system allows the unit to run cooler by eliminating heat, thus running more efficiently. This translates into more cutting power and less machine maintenance. The Switch Blade's proven blade design allows for precision cutting. Built-in rock guards help to minimize blade damage.


Specifications

DRIVE SYSTEM - Planetary Drive System (this is a knife drive unit which produces 100% linear knife head movement and no loss of stroke and reduction in vibration. Knife has 3-1/3" stroke which provides 3/8" overstroke).

HYDRAULIC POWER - Front Mounted, 2-section pump (2 pump sizes available to be matched to the tractor RPM, eliminating the need for a flow divider or any other mechanism to control excess flow, thus eliminating excess heating due to restriction).

HYDRAULIC CONTROLS:
  • Two cylinders for positioning cutter bar
  • 90° above horizontal to 75° below horizontal
  • 2" below grade to 12" above grade
  • Hydraulic circuit supplies full system flow
  • Check valves incorporated to lock and hold cutterbar position
KNIFE OBSTRUCTION RELIEF - Relief valve in hydraulic circuit to protect against damage caused by knife jams.

SAFETY BREAKAWAY - Automatic, self-returning with elastomeric shock absorber. Breakaway swing is 90° maximum.

MOUNTING - Side mounted on right hand side of tractor. Minimum tractor weight - 3000 lbs. Minimum horsepower - 25hp.

SAFETY LOCK-UP - Mechanical safety transport lock for lift function.

WEIGHT - 500 lbs (mower and mount kit)

WARRANTY - Minimum one-year parts and labor pursuant to standard limited warranty. Non-governmental users may be subject to a modified policy.

OPTIONS - Double cutter bar units available, knife holder brackets, Ag shoe and swathboard.
